AHS’s Mission

Animal House Shelter was founded in 2002 with a simple mission, to save the lives of stray pets who would otherwise be forgotten. They rescue 98% of their dogs and cats from animal control facilities with high rates of euthanasia. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, they rescue all animals, without regard to breed, age, or health. Animal house shelter has rescued over 45,000 Dogs and Cats since opening its doors in 2002 Most of these animals are victims of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. It is expensive to save and shelter all these animals, AHS even provides full veterinary care to all who need it. This can include expensive surgeries, and complicated procedures costing thousands of dollars. |

Our Partnership
To help support and their mission, Downtown Pet Supply is sponsoring a giveaway in the lead up to their Dash for the Dogs event in Barrington, IL on May 19th.
Like Animal House Shelter, Downtown Pet Supply is committed to protecting pets in every community. While our products support the health, longevity, and happiness of pets, there is always more to do. We often donate our extra supplies to local shelters and try to support them as much as we can. But this year we are taking it one step further…
Not only are we giving away over $200 in prize packs related to our giveaway, but 5% of all sales from the giveaway will be donated to Animal House Shelter. Just use code AHS at checkout to contribute. The giveaway begins on April 1st and runs until the Dash for the Dogs event on Sunday, May 19th, 2019.
Dash for the Dogs
This is the 9th annual Dash for the Dogs event. This year it consists of a 5K run, a 1-mile family walk, and a Virtual Dash option for people who are not local. Whether you love to run, hate to run, or cannot attend the event: the Dash for the Dogs has an option for you. All proceeds benefit Animal House Shelter and their important mission.

Participants will receive a t-shirt and race bag, regardless of whether you sign up to attend or decide to run virtually. Dogs are invited, and the first 25 even receive a free bandanna to commemorate the event (just don’t forget to keep them on a leash!).
